Riga is the capital of Latvia, on the banks of the sparkling Daugava River. A Hanseatic port, it can trace its history back to about 1200 A.D. Riga Castle houses three different museums, including the Museum of Latvian History. Visit the well-preserved examples of distinctly medieval architecture including the Mansion of Peter I. Don't miss the beauty and culture of this city which can be found in Mezparks, the Opera and Ballet at the Latvia Philharmonic Orchestra.
